Board of Trustees Statute

To introduce European standards and developed countries’ experience into the Ukrainian medicine, the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund has initiated founding boards of trustees at children’s hospitals – members of the Hospital to Hospital Program.

A board of trustees is a non-governmental advisory body, created at the hospital for public control over its work. Through the board, the community can implement its initiatives aimed at finding the best way to apply funds for solving the region’s urgent problems, in part, in pediatrics. A board of trustees can also offer room for discussing pressing medical issues and finding ways to solve them.

The members of a board are representatives of the hospital in question, independent medical professionals (medical colleges’ faculty members, oblast pediatricians), public figures, businessmen, media people, and representatives of the Ukraine 3000 Fund.

The first Board of Trustees at a Hospital to Hospital member hospital was created September 29, 2006, at the Lviv City Community Children’s Clinical Hospital. Other 22 boards had been founded between September 29 and December 15. The Fund’s initiative was supported by all members of the program.

Earlier, on June 1, 2006, the Kremenchuk City Children’s Hospital created a Supervisory Board on their own initiative.
