Children’s Clinical Hospital at the Ministry of Health of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea was founded in 1988. The hospital renders high quality specialized medical assistance to the Crimean children. It also serves as an organization and methods center for the children’s treatment and prevention institutions in the Crimea, as well as a clinical base for the hospital pediatrics and children’s surgery chairs of the Crimean Heorhiyevsky State Medical University.

The hospital was assigned with highest qualification in 2004. The hospital provides assistance in 24 specialties on 410 beds (235 in the Physiology Unit and 175 in surgery). The consultative clinic receives 240 patients per day.

Around 170 doctors and over 400 paramedics work at the hospital.

The hospital has a mobile diagnosing team, attending patients at central rayon and city hospitals. Chiefs of the specialized department, who are also freelance workers with the Ministry of Health of the Crimea, give mobile consultations in the Crimean rural regions.

The highly experienced medical staff of the hospital is prepared to implement new medical technologies.

Major areas requiring further development at the hospital are: intensive therapy; nursing and rehabilitation of newborns with extremely low body mass; mastering new methods in reconstructive surgeries on newborns; closed heart surgeries; mastering endoscopic surgeries, etc.

The hospital has an experience of participation in many international programs, most of which are related to children’s leucosis. The leucosis programs were organized by Germany. The hospital also took part in the Ukrainian-American program to prevent birth defects, patronized by the USAID.

  • Ophthalmologic Microsurgery (25 beds);
  • Consultative Clinic;
  • Admission and Diagnosing;
  • Children’s Morbid Anatomy;
  • Physiotherapy;
  • Hyperbaric Oxygenation Unit.

Diagnosing Service:

  • Ultrasonic Diagnosing. Ultrasonic diagnosing of abdominal cavity, kidneys, thyroid gland, and heart. Neurosonography for out- and inpatients.
  • X-Rays Diagnosing. General and specialized X-Ray examinations.
  • Functional Diagnosing. Examinations of heart and brain bioelectric activity, etc.
  • Endoscopy Unit.
  • Clinical Diagnosing. Bacteriological, clinical, biochemical, immunological, and cytological units. All kinds of unified tests.
