Board of Trustees
Ternopil Oblast Children’s Community Hospital was founded in 1965. Since 1987 it is working at new premises. Its bed capacity is 405. 160 doctors and 350 paramedics work at the hospital.
The hospital is the oblast’s only institution rendering multiprofile assistance to Ternopil oblast children. Every year it provides high-quality medical services to roughly 12,000 children. The hospital carries out surgeries on congenital heart diseases and hearing-restoring surgeries on the middle ear.
The oblast center for early medical and social rehabilitation for children with special needs carries out a wide range of neurophysiologic tests (EEG, rheoelectroencephalography, EMG).
To provide planned consultations, treatment, and diagnosing to children in rural regions, Ternopil Oblast Children’s Community Hospital’s mobile teams go on regular raids to the faraway regions. In course of these raids, they carry out tests with a mobile ultrasonic scanner and prescribe suitable course of treatment.
The hospital’s staff supports and initiates advanced training on the base of renowned research organizations in Ukraine and abroad.
The hospital participates in the International Program for Surgical Correction of Congenital Heart Diseases in Children. The program is financed by the Sobornist All-Ukrainian Charitable Foundation, Ukrainian-American Freedom Foundation, and Ternopil Rotary Club.
Besides, a close cooperation has been established between the Center for Medical and Social Rehabilitation for Children with Special Needs at Ternopil Oblast Children’s Community Hospital and Bee Rehabilitation Center for Disabled Children (Brussels, Belgium).
