Kateryna Yushchenko met with Paula Dobriansky, Under Secretary of State for Democracy and Global Affairs, U.S. Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart, Marco Paredes, Miami Children's Hospital representative, and Diane Kube from the Community Oncology Alliance.
She told them about the Ukraine 3000 Foundation. The First Lady stressed that medical programs launched by the foundation were very important. She pointed out that children’s clinics in Ukraine needed diagnostic equipment.
The participants of the meeting discussed ways to cooperate with Ukrainian hospitals. For instance, Miami Children’s Hospital wants to cooperate with one of Ukraine’s cancer clinics. Its doctors do not object to inviting Ukrainian patients. They also discussed possibilities to send Ukrainian doctors to practice in Florida and agreed that American physicians would visit few children’s hospitals in Ukraine this year to learn what kind of aid they need.
