October 12, 2006, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Kateryna Yushchenko and Public Relations Director of Proctor and Gamble Ukraine Vitaliy Prokopenko passed over modern equipment to the Neonatology Unit of the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast Children’s Clinical Hospital.
The action was held within the framework of the Ukraine 3000 Fund’s and Proctor and Gamble Ukraine’s joint program, Healthy Children of Ukraine, which was launched in October 2005 as a part of the Fund’s Hospital to Hospital program.
In her greeting speech Mrs. Yushchenko said, “This event is just another illustration of how business helps to solve urgent social problems. Our children’s health and complete life is the whole society’s concern, and everyone has to expend some effort to protect it.”
The Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast Children’s Clinical Hospital has received an infant incubator, infant resuscitator, Innocare S monitoring and phototherapy systems (with a set of neonatal accessories), infusion pump, and digital baby scale, with total cost UAH 362,302 (roughly $70,000).
Last year the partners presented modern children’s reanimobiles totaling over UAH 1.5 million ($ 300,000) to four oblast hospitals. These reanimobiles have already attended to over 1,200 children in Luhansk, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, and Zakarpattia Oblasts.
It is also planned to present modern equipment to the Khmelnitsky City Children’s Hospital this year. All the equipment meets highest global standards, is certified, and is subject to post-sales maintenance. The total value of the equipment for the two hospitals will sum up to UAH 850,000 ($170,000).
