May 17, 2007, members of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Organization met with representatives of the Soleterre Charitable Organization (Italy). The Ukraine 3000 Fund was represented by Educational Programs Coordinator Kateryna Taranenko, designer Tetiana Zhuravska, and Deputy Head of the Hospital to Hospital Program Inna Holovanchuk, and Soleterre – by Project Manager Valeria Gemello and Project Coordinator Nataliya Onipko.
The participants of the meeting discussed concept and ways for implementation of an art therapy project at the Hospital to Hospital program member hospitals. The parties agreed upon further steps to implement this project, aimed at organizing art therapy lessons for children with cancer at hospitals in all Ukraine’s oblasts. Pilot projects are being launched at five oblasts that already have some experience in similar projects.
The Soleterre Association has great expertise in implementing various programs involving psychological and social aid to children with cancer. In part, on March 23, 2007, the association held the All-Ukrainian Workshop for NGOs and volunteer groups helping children with cancer and their families, in which Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund representatives took part.
