December 18, 2007, a charitable organ music soiree was held at Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral. The concert was sponsored by Head of the Volyn Oblast State Administration M. Romaniuk and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotantiary of Ukraine to Lithuania B. Klymchuk. Laureate of international organ music contests, organ player at the Dome Cathedral (Riga, Latvia) Yevgeniya Lisitsyna performed at the soiree.
The funds raised at the event (over UAH 10,000) were transferred to the Volyn-based Protect Children’s Lives foundation for the construction of the Volyn Oblast Perinatal Center at the Volyn Oblast Children’s Regional Medical Association.
The VOCRMA staff thanks all donators for their understanding of the importance of protecting the future generation’s health and their display of Christian spirit. The Volyn medical people hope this will set a graphic example of charity to all Volyn people.
Creating the Volyn Oblast Perinatal Center, whose construction started in 2001, will allow to provide high-quality medical aid to the pregnant, women in labor, and newborns meeting world standards. To speed up the process, the VOCRMA, while still hoping to get financing for the project from the state, will keep working to involve charitable and sponsor money.
