February 20, 2008, Head of the Board of Directors of Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Oleksandr Maksymchuk met with Head Physician of the Luhansk Oblast Children’s Clinical Hospital Vasyl Tkachenko.
They discussed issues related to the cooperation between the Ukraine 3000 Fund and Luhansk Oblast Children’s Clinical Hospital, in part, the participation of Luhansk doctors in the Fund’s educational programs within the framework of the Hospital to Hospital and Children's Hospital of the Future programs. Dr. Tkachenko described his view on the staff policy at the All-Ukrainian Center to Protect Mother's and Children's Health, emphasizing the need to create medical aid posts at the hospital. Another issue under discussion was the work of the Board of Trustees at the Luhansk OCCL. Besides, Messrs. Maksymchuk and Tkachenko discussed urgent problems of the medicine in general and Luhansk hospital in particular.
Mr. Maksymchuk examined the medical equipment the hospital received this February within the framework of the Japanese governmental program to render technical aid to children’s hospitals in ’s regions. In total, the hospital received 193 items of 55 denominations totaling around $2,000,000. At present, the equipment is being installed and adjusted. Head of the Board of Directors of Ukraine 3000 Fund familiarized himself with the work of one of the modern X-ray machines.
