March 5, 2008, a meeting took place between representatives of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation and Sanofi Pasteur Company. Among its participants were the Foundation’s Medical Programs Dept. Head Vira Pavliuk, Expert with the Medical Programs Dept. Taras Tkachuk, and Sanofi Pasteur regional representative for Ukraine Olena Bekh.
The participants of the meeting discussed the possibilities for cooperation between Ukraine 3000 Foundation and Sanofi Pasteur in 2008, in part, donating to Hospital to Hospital program members hepatitis A, measles, and pneumococcus vaccines, which would make possible efficient preventive measures among children in the risk group.
It was also decided that the company would held training for pediatricians, familiarizing them with modern approaches to vaccination, and will consider the possibility of sending some experts for training abroad.
The first batch of vaccines will be passed to the Hospital to Hospital program members as early as this April.
Sanofi Pasteur, the vaccines division of Sanofi-Aventis Group, is the largest company in the world devoted entirely to human vaccines.
