On the eve of the holiday season, St. Nicholas visited little patients of Chernivtsi Oblast Clinical Hospital No.2. For the last five years the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church community and Rev. Roman Zamorsky have been organizing fests for the hospital wards.
This time, the children were greeted by Obnova studtns’ Catholic alliance at the church and the Plast scouting organization. The kids were happy to get presents, listen to songs, and watch a captivating performance.
Forgetting all about their sickness, boys and girls were devotedly watching the show on the improvised stage. After the performance, they were reciting poems and singing songs in St. Nicholas’s lap and receiving wonderful presents.
Together with St. Nicholas, another good friend came to the hospital: private entrepreneur Valery Karvatsky, who has brought candies for the children.
“Today, due to sincere and hearty people, our hospital is turning into a European patient care institution with patient-friendly conditions,” Head Physician Natalia Shevchuk says. “Karbatsky-bud firm has remodeled our fourth floor with its own costs, which is now one of the best in our hospital. When the UAH 112,000, earmarked for fixing the heating system, proved not enough, this company paid the rest (almost UAH 70,000). Chernivtsi Chemical Plant also extended a helping hand to the hospital, giving us high-quality paint for free.”
Philanthropy is becoming a trend in Bukovyna, which means that little patients’ wishes will certainly come true. Because the first thing in everybody’s wish list was getting well.
