Winners Announced in Open Bids Competition for Purchasing Medical Equipment within the Framework of a Ukraine 3000 Foundation - McDonald’s Ukraine Joint Action

February 23, 2009, the Contest Committee of the open bids competition for purchasing medical equipment within the framework of a Ukraine 3000 Foundation - McDonald’s Ukraine joint action met at the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation headquarters. Among the participants of the meeting were Head of the Board of Directors of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Oleksandr Maksymchuk (chairman), Head of the McDonald’s Ukraine Public Relations Dept. Mykhaylo Shuranov, the Foundation’s Financial Director Rostyslav Zamlynsky, expert with the Development Dept. Oleksiy Kamyanchuk, experts with the Medical Programs Dept. Taras Tkachuk and Lesia Lazoryshynets, and Deputy Head of the Medical Programs Dept. Inna Holovanchuk (secretary).

The issue on the agenda was considering the bids and defining the results of the bids competition for purchasing medical equipment for 29 children’s hospitals in Ukraine.

After listening to the independent experts’ conclusions, it was decided to purchase the equipment from the following companies: Ukrmed Ltd., NPMTs Kardio Ltd., Kyivspetsresurs Ltd., Astra-Med SE, and Paramed PE.

In the next two weeks, contract will be signed with the winners for purchasing medical equipment: patient monitoring systems, medium class infant incubators, electric pumps, pulsoximeters, one and two-channel syringe pumps, digital and mechanical scales, photo therapy lamp, photo therapy systems, and emergency aid kits.

The total cost of the purchase is over UAH 1,600,000.

Recall that the action became possible due to the Ukraine 3000 Foundation - McDonald’s Ukraine cooperation in the World Children’s Day at McDonald’s. This action, held in November 2008, involved over 350,000 visitors and staff members of the 63 McDonald’s restaurants in 19 Ukrainian cities.
