Bids opening held for the tender for purchasing medical equipment for 20 children’s hospitals in Ukraine
The Tender Committee resolved to create an Expert Committee to process the bids, with Head of the Ukraine 3000 Foundation’s Medical Programs Department Vira Pavliuk as its head. It was decided to invited independent experts as the Committee members. The Expert Committee will be processing the bids till January 25, 2010.

11-Year-Old Ukrainian Gets Cardio Surgery in Italy
The boy was given the Rastelli procedure. The surgery was corrective, not palliative, and lasted around 7 hours. Such surgical interventions are very rare at this age; usually it is performed at the age of 12-24 months.

155 Surgeries in Two Years Performed on Ukrainian Children by American Surgeons in Ukrainian Initiative Program
The biggest number of children has been operated on in Kyiv (87) at the National Amosov Cardiovascular Surgery Institute. 41 surgeries have been performed at the Kharkiv General and Emergency Surgery Institute. At the Odesa Oblast Children’s Clinical Hospital American surgeons have preformed 27 operations.

Up to 15 Children from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast with serious Diseases to Undergo Treatment in Italy Every Year
